The Detroit Red Wings made their mark at the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship in Finland.

All six players in the World Championship who suited up for the Red Wings this season made the quarterfinals, and two players - defenseman Filip Hronek and forward Jakub Vrana of the Czech Republic - took home hardware as bronze medalists in the international tournament.

Let's take a look at the performances of the Red Wings' players and prospects following the conclusion of the 17-day competition.

UNITED STATES

Grand Rapids Griffins forward Riley Barber helped the U.S. secure a 3-2-0-2 record at the World Championship, good for fourth among qualifying countries.
Barber did not play in last Thursday's 3-0 quarterfinals win over Switzerland, but the 28-year-old skated in Saturday's 4-3 semifinals loss to Finland.
The next day, Barber again suited up in an 8-4 loss in the bronze medal game to the Czech Republic. The forward finished the tournament with a goal and a plus-2 ranking

CZECH REPUBLIC

Vrana and Hronek were steady contributors throughout the tournament, helping the Czech Republic place third with a 4-0-1-2 record.
Hronek had an assist and Vrana played 11 minutes in last Thursday's 4-1 quarterfinals win over Germany. Two days later, Hronek collected a helper while Vrana registered 12:10 of ice time in a 6-1 semifinals loss to Canada.
Neither Hronek nor Vrana recorded a point against the U.S., but their steady play helped their native country earn the bronze.

GERMANY

After a 2021-22 NHL season in which he played all 82 games and became a Calder Memorial Trophy Finalist, defenseman Moritz Seider played a key role for Germany (5-0-1-1 record) en route to its seventh-place finish.
Seider, who finished tournament play with two goals and five assists, scored a third-period goal against the Czech Republic on May 26.

SWEDEN

Goalie Magnus Hellberg and Sweden ended with a 5-1-1-0 record, good for sixth in the final World Championship standings.
Hellberg did not play in last Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to Canada in the quarterfinals. The Red Wings' recently signed netminder finished the international competition with a 1.47 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage in four games.

SWITZERLAND

Forward Pius Suter helped Switzerland (6-1-0-0 record) place fifth in the tournament. He logged 17:47 of ice time in the loss against the U.S. on May 26.
