It was a very busy year for Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard, on and off the ice.
Howard, who turned 34 on March 26, came into the season as the team's No. 1 goaltender, having been protected in the expansion draft.
The Wings traded backup Petr Mrazek to the Philadelphia Flyers on Feb. 19 and Howard continued to play the bulk of the games the rest of the way.
The veteran netminder is entering the final year of his six-year, $31.75 million contract.
60 -- Howard made 60 appearances in the 2017-18 season, the most since appearing in 63 games in both 2009-10 and 2010-11, his first two seasons in the league.

Howard also posted one shutout this season, March 31 against the Ottawa Senators, a 2-0 victory in which he made 31 saves.
3 -- On May 7, Howard and his wife, Rachel, welcomed their third child and first girl to the family, Olivia Theresa. The Howards have two sons, James IV and Henry.
