Red Wings send Elson to Griffins

Roster reduced to 46 with three preseason games left

DETROIT -The Detroit Red Wings today assigned center
Turner Elson
to the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Red Wings' roster currently stands at 46 players: 26 forwards, 15 defensemen and five goaltenders. The Red Wings will continue a four-game preseason homestand by hosting the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. (WWJ 950 AM) and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (FOX Sports Detroit Plus/WWJ 950 AM) before wrapping up the preseason on the road against the Maple Leafs on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. (NHL Network).
