The first junior league for girls in North America, the JWHL will celebrate its 11th season next year and is set to expand to ten programs for the 2017-18 campaign. With an emphasis to play on-campus showcases tailored for college scouts, the JWHL has placed more than 700 girls hockey players in college programs during the first 10 years of the league's existence.
"Joining the JWHL is a very positive step for our Little Caesars Girls Program in terms of exposure, competition and opportunity," said Manon Rheaume, Leader of the Little Caesars Girls Program. "It is another example of our commitment to the development of our players on and off the ice, as we look to help them reach the next level of their playing careers at the collegiate level, while furthering their education off the ice."
The Little Caesars Girls Program began in 1992 and won a National Title in 1993 as the only Girls Program in the state of Michigan at the time. Over the past two seasons, fifteen players have moved on to college, while pursuing their passion for hockey. This season, another dozen girls have committed to playing collegiately. These players are a testament to our Little Caesars Hockey Club Mission Statement emphasizing education and leadership. Their success is the fulfilment of the original vision set forth by the Ilitch family, who remain staunchly committed to amateur sports.

Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club prepares for transition into Little Caesars Arena
With the opening of Little Caesars Arena in September 2017, the Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League will have a new state-of-the-art facility to call home. The facility will play host to numerous youth tournaments, events and training for the AAA Hockey Club.
The Little Caesars Boys program will also continue to compete throughout the state of Michigan and Ontario. Additionally, the Little Caesars AAA Boys teams will participate alongside fellow NHL partners in the growing NHL Youth Cup, which gives NHL-sponsored AAA youth hockey clubs an opportunity to compete in a prestigious tournament for all birth years from squirt minor through bantam major. The 2016 NHL Youth Cup featured more than 800 players from 44 teams across the U.S.
