The goal came after Penn State freshman goalie Peyton Jones, who was named the Big Ten Tournament's Most Outstanding Player, made 19 of his 51 saves in the extra sessions for his second-consecutive double overtime victory. Folkes got Penn State on the board late in the first period, beating Wisconsin freshman goalie Jack Berry, who made 33 saves in the loss. The Badgers forced overtime after Matt Ustaski scored with just under 10 minutes remaining in the third period.
