Husso, 27, made 40 appearances with the Blues during the 2021-22 season, compiling a 25-7-6 record with a 2.56 goals-against average, a 0.916 save percentage and two shutouts. The 6-foot-3, 209-pound netminder also posted a 2-5 record with a 3.67 goals-against average, an 0.890 save percentage and one shutout in seven postseason contests as the Blues reached the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, falling to the eventual Stanley Cup-champion Colorado Avalanche in six games. Husso made his NHL debut with St. Louis in 2020-21, logging a 9-6-1 mark with a 3.21 goals-against average, an 0.893 save percentage and a shutout in 17 appearances. He was originally selected by the Blues in the fourth round (94th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to making the NHL full-time, Husso spent parts of four seasons in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves and San Antonio Rampage from 2016-20, holding a 50-54-20 record with a 2.70 goals-against average, a 0.908 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 129 AHL contests. He was named to the AHL's All-Rookie Team in 2017-18 after finishing 15-14-5 with a 2.42 goals-against average, a 0.922 save percentage and four shutouts with the Rampage. Husso also appeared in 13 games with the ECHL's Missouri Mavericks in 2016-17, going 4-4-3 with a 3.23 goals-against average, a 0.910 save percentage and one shutout.
A native of Helsinki, Finland, Husso played three seasons with HIFK in Finland's SM-Liiga from 2013-16 before arriving in North America, finishing with a 60-33-21 record in 121 appearances. In his final season with HIFK in 2015-16, Husso was named to the SM-Liiga All-Star Team and captured the Urpo Ylönen Award as the league's top goaltender after recording the circuit's best goals-against average (1.91), save percentage (0.927) and postseason goals-against average (1.55). On the international stage, Husso made his debut with Finland's senior team with three games at the 2018 IIHF World Championship. He previously represented his country at back-to-back IIHF World Junior Championships in 2014 and 2015, earning a gold medal at the 2014 tournament. Additionally, Husso garnered a bronze medal at the 2013 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and competed for Finland at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
