DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings today announced their 2021-22 preseason schedule.
The 2021-22 Red Wings will take to the ice for the first time on Wednesday, Sept. 29 with a road game against the Chicago Blackhawks at 8:30 p.m. at the United Center, before making their Little Caesars Arena season debut on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres. A stretch of three games in three nights kicks off the October schedule as Detroit will play six games in eight days, with home dates against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday Oct. 2 (7:00 p.m.), the Blackhawks on Monday, Oct. 4 (7:30 p.m.) and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, Oct. 7 (7:30 p.m.). The eight-game slate also features visits to Pittsburgh (Sunday, Oct. 3 at 1:00 p.m.) and Columbus (Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 7:00 p.m.) and concludes on Saturday, Oct. 9 with a road tilt in Buffalo at 3:00 p.m.
