COLUMBUS --Filip Hronek scored a pair of goals for his first career multi-goal NHL game, and the Detroit Red Wings overpowered the Columbus Blue Jackets, 6-1, on Saturday night at Nationwide Arena.

Captain Dylan Larkin had a power-play goal and two assists while Ville Husso made 27 saves for Detroit, which won the final two games of its four-game road trip to finish with a 2-1-1 record, earning five of a possible eight points.
"I'm just really happy with the way they responded," head coach Derek Lalonde said. "Not only on the road trip, but each of the last couple of games."
Dominik Kubalik had a man-advantage tally, and Ben Chiarot and Tyler Bertuzzi both found the back of the net at even strength to help the Red Wings improve to 9-5-4 overall (22 points) this season.
"After the Los Angeles (Kings) game, we tried to tighten things up," said Husso, who has allowed one goal or less in six of his 12 starts this season. "I think we did a good job. Scoring goals always helps us to win the game, so the last few games it has been a good thing."
Moritz Seider had three assists, while Andrew Copp and Lucas Raymond each tallied two helpers against the Blue Jackets. Both Seider and Raymond played in their 100th NHL game on Saturday.
NEXT UP: The Red Wings will be idle until next Wednesday's annual Thanksgiving Eve game against the Nashville Predators at Little Caesars Arena.

QUOTABLE

Lalonde on Saturday's win and the four-game road trip as a whole
"We're really happy. We won the road trip. You always want more points than games, especially this is a tough road trip just going out west. It's hard, the travel in it. And then, throwing this one coming all the way back east, I give the guys credit."
Lalonde on the benefits of his defensemen generating offense
"I think it helps spread our offense out. I like that offense is coming from our defense also, but we're just simplifying our offense. I think it's more about getting bodies and pucks to the net. I think that's what happened tonight, and last night also."
Husso on if he feels more comfortable playing with a lead
"It's for everyone, too. It's easier when you're leading the game, you don't need to come from behind and try to win. It's always nice to get a goal right away in the first."
Seider on playing his 100th career NHL game
"It's pretty crazy, but a really cool feeling overall."
Raymond on his NHL career so far
"It feels like it's gone quick. But it's for sure been fun and exciting."
