The Detroit Red Wings are excited to once again host Hometown Heroes Day at Little Caesars Arena this Saturday as the club hosts the Atlantic Division-rival Ottawa Senators for a 1 p.m. matinee matchup.

Hometown Heroes Day is an annual celebration of the hard work, sacrifice and bravery of so many local heroes in metro Detroit, representing law enforcement, emergency medical services, firefighters and others who risk their lives every day to protect the Hockeytown community.
To recognize the brave men and women who serve our community, the Red Wings offered a special ticket package for Hometown Heroes Day, which included a custom Law Enforcement or Fire/EMS Red Wings jersey and a portion of proceeds benefiting the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services, Michigan Concerns of Police Survivors, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and the Great Lakes Burn Camp.
"Our annual Hometown Heroes game is one we look forward to every year," said Red Wings vice president of ticket sales and service Amanda Dennis. "Our fans and staff are all very proud of our local first responders, law enforcement officers and firefighters, so we couldn't be more excited to pay tribute to them throughout the game.
"We sold out of our special ticket package for Hometown Heroes Day, which demonstrates the support that our fans and staff continue to show for this event year after year, and we cannot wait to recognize these incredible individuals and organizations on Saturday."
To begin the Hometown Heroes Day celebration, the American and Canadian National Anthems will be performed by Northville Township Fire Department captain Chris Madzik.
Madzik, who is a two-time Northville Township Firefighter of the Year, also performed the National Anthem prior to the Detroit Tigers game on Sept. 11, 2021 to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of the tragic World Trade Center attack in 2001.
To commemorate the frontline heroes in our community who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their service, the Red Wings will have a moment of silence before puck drop, and the color guard will be jointly represented by law enforcement officers and firefighters.
Throughout the game, contest participants will be comprised of community servicemen and women, and the Red Wings will pay tribute to several local heroes on the Little Caesars Arena videoboard.
