Recap: Vrana's two-goal night leads Red Wings past Lightning, 4-3

Jakub Vrana scored twice, including the eventual game-winner in the third period, and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Tampa Bay Lightning, 4-3, at AMALIE Arena on Tuesday night.

It was a milestone night for Vrana, who tied former Red Wings forward Danny Grant for the fewest games (32) to reach the 20-goal mark with the franchise.
Oskar Sundqvist and Lucas Raymond both added second-period tallies while goalie Thomas Greiss made 38 saves for the Wings, who snapped the Lightning's three-game winning streak at home.
With the win, Detroit improved its overall record to 30-37-10 this season. Tampa Bay fell to 46-22-8.
NEXT UP:The Red Wings will wrap up the two-game road trip when they face the Florida Panthers on Thursday night. Puck drop from FLA Live Arena is set for 7 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN+ and Hulu.

Steven Stamkos' backwards pass found Ross Colton, who scored from the left faceoff circle for his 18th goal of the season.
Detroit 1, Tampa Bay 1 (4:20, 2nd period)
Detroit tied the game just 22 seconds later after Moritz Seider fed Danny DeKeyser just below the blue line. DeKeyser fired a shot that bounced off Nicholas Paul and Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy, but Sundqvist grabbed loose puck and netted his third goal as a member of the Wings.

Detroit 2, Tampa Bay 1 (6:34, 2nd period)
Jake Walman sent the puck around the boards to Filip Zadina, who found Vrana near the top of the right faceoff circle. Vrana quickly gathered the puck, then fired a shot through traffic to score his 11th goal of the season.

Detroit 3, Tampa Bay 1 (8:17, 2nd period)
Raymond stole the puck from Mikhail Sergachev, skated to the right faceoff circle and sent a shot that went off Vasilevskiy's pads and through his legs into the back of the net.

Tampa Bay 2, Detroit 3 (9:47, 2nd period)
Nikita Kucherov scored a power-play goal to pull the Lightning within one.

Colton notched his second tally of the night off a shot from the slot.

Vrana stripped the puck off Sergachev and scored his second goal against Tampa Bay, the eventual game-winner, on a breakaway.
