QUOTABLE

Jeff Blashill on the Wings' effort
"They certainly had some chances, but we had some chances and Thomas was good. That sacrifice you saw at the end, that was outstanding. I was real proud of the effort the guys put forth today."
Blashill on Vrana
"It's one of those things where it's hard to score in this league and we're in a spot right now, with some guys missing, where it's not going to be easy for us to score. So when you can score the way he scored, it obviously puts us in a game where we don't need a 1,000 chances. We just need a few chances."
Vrana on what a win against the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning means
"We can take a lot of positive things out of it. I think we played great today and deserved to win. Like I said, a lot of positive things we can take out of this game moving forward here."
Vrana on how Detroit prepared for Tuesday's matchup
"We don't really care about the opponent, what they do or what they did. We focus on ourselves and what we can do better out there to give us a chance to win a game. That was our mindset today and that's our mindset every game."
