DETROIT --The Detroit Red Wings' late comeback bid fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night at Little Caesars Arena.

Dominik Kubalik and Dylan Larkin both scored third-period goals for the Red Wings, who trailed, 3-0, early in the final frame.
Goalie Ville Husso made 15 saves in two periods, while Jussi Olkinuora stopped all six shots he faced in relief.
Tyler Bertuzzi had an assist in 20:07 of ice time in his 2022-23 preseason debut for Detroit, which dropped to 2-3-0 in exhibition play.
NEXT UP: The Red Wings will travel to face the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night at Capital One Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
