DETROIT -The Detroit Red Wings today announced the roster for their 2023 Development Camp, which will be held at the BELFOR Training Center inside Little Caesars Arena starting today, Saturday, July 1 to Wednesday, July 5. The camp roster currently consists of 25 forwards, 15 defensemen and six goaltenders.

All 11 players the Red Wings selected at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft on June 28-29 in Nashville will be in attendance for Development Camp: forwards Kevin Bicker, Nate Danielson, Noah Dower-Nilsson and Emmitt Finnie, defensemen Brady Cleveland, Andrew Gibson, Larry Keenan, Jack Phelan and Axel Sandin Pellikka, and goaltenders Trey Augustine and Rudy Guimond. Eight of the team's selections from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft are slated to attend, along with five players from the 2021 Draft and six from 2020.

Both of the Red Wings' first-round picks from the 2023 NHL Entry Draft will attend Development Camp in Nate Danielson (ninth overall) and Axel Sandin Pellikka (17th overall). Danielson captained the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings during the 2022-23 season and ranked among the team leaders with 33 goals (1st), 45 assists (1st), 78 points (1st), 38 penalty minutes (T10th), 13 power play goals (1st), 38 power play points (1st), three shorthanded goals (1st), five game-winning goals (T1st), 244 shots (2nd) in 68 games. The 6-foot-2, 186-pound center has compiled 150 points (59-91-150), a plus-seven rating and 80 penalty minutes in 140 WHL games since 2020-21. Sandin Pellikka spent part of the 2022-23 season with Skellefteå AIK in the Swedish Hockey League, recording five points (2-3-5) and a plus-two rating in 22 games. His five points were the most of any defenseman 18 years of age or younger in Sweden's highest professional league. Additionally, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound blueliner was named the best defenseman in Sweden's top junior league after racking up 36 points (16-20-36), a plus-15 rating and 64 penalty minutes in 31 games with Skellefteå AIK's under-20 team, along with one assist in two postseason appearances.

Additionally, the Red Wings' first-round pick from the 2022 NHL Entry Draft will attend Development Camp in Marco Kasper (eighth overall) and one first-round pick from the 2021 NHL Entry Draft will return in Sebastian Cossa (15th overall). Kasper began the 2022-23 season with Rögle BK in the Swedish Hockey League, collecting 23 points (8-15-23), a plus-seven rating and 72 penalty minutes in 52 regular-season games, in addition to three assists in nine postseason contests. His 23 points were the second-most by any skater 20 years of age or younger in Sweden's top professional league. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound center made his NHL debut with the Red Wings on April 2 at Toronto, finishing with one shot and three hits in 14:59 time on ice. Cossa spent the majority of the 2022-23 campaign with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye, posting a 26-16-4 record with a 2.56 goals-against average, a 0.913 save percentage and four shutouts in 46 appearances. The 6-foot-6, 229-pound netminder also held a 5-2 record with a 2.32 goals-against average and a 0.917 save percentage in seven postseason matchups, helping the Walleye reach the Western Conference Final.

Other prospects slated to attend include Carter Mazur (70th overall in 2021), who signed a three-year entry-level contract with Detroit and recorded six points (3-3-6) in six games with the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins to wrap up the 2022-23 season; Shai Buium (36th overall in 2021), who teamed up with Mazur to help the University of Denver (NCHC) win the 2022 NCAA National Championship; William Wallinder (32nd overall in 2020), who logged 26 points (9-17-26) in 50 games with Rögle BK; and Amadeus Lombardi (113th overall in 2022), who amassed 102 points (45-57-102) in 67 games with the Ontario Hockey League's Flint Firebirds during the 2022-23 campaign.

2023 DEVELOPMENT CAMP SCHEDULE

The camp will be split into three teams - Team Howe, Team Lidstrom and Team Lindsay - and will feature daily on-ice instruction and skill development from a team of coaches, led by the Red Wings player development staff. Attendees will also take part in NHL-level off-ice workouts and attend presentations designed to help players transition to professional hockey, while experiencing the state-of-the-art player amenities offered at Little Caesars Arena and receiving feedback from Red Wings coaches and management.
