Rochester Americans General Manager Randy Sexton announced today that the team has signed defenseman Stuart Percy to an American Hockey League contract for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
Percy, a fifth-year pro, joined the Amerks on a Professional Tryout on Oct. 19 and has since recorded 17 points (3+14) in 23 games this season. His 17 points are currently tied for the most among Rochester defensemen and place him third overall on the team in scoring.
A native of Oakville, Ontario, Percy has amassed 89 points (14+75) in 237 career AHL appearances with Rochester, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Toronto. He has also recorded three assists in 12 NHL contests for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who selected the 24-year-old defensemen in the first round (25th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-1, 193-pound blueliner played four seasons with Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League, where he totaled 121 points (25+96) in 218 games.
