The Buffalo Sabres led the whole way Sunday afternoon in their 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins at KeyBank Center.
Sam Reinhart scored twice while Arttu Ruotsalainen and Rasmus Asplund also tallied. Dustin Tokarski stopped 34 shots.
Victor Olofsson and Rasmus Dahlin each recorded a pair of assists.

Ruostalainen's opening goal snapped Casey DeSmith's shutout streak against the Sabres at 180:18, a streak that stretched back to the 2018-19 season.
Jason Zucker and Teddy Blueger scored for Pittsburgh. DeSmith made 25 saves.
Buffalo's power play went 1-for-2 and the team finished 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

What happened

The Sabres struck first 26 seconds into the game. On a 2-on-1 Dylan Cozens fed Ruotsalainen, who buried a one-timer for the second goal of his career.
Reinhart put Buffalo ahead 2-0 with an early second-period goal. Taking a pass at the Penguins blue line from Victor Olofsson, Reinhart skated in and roofed a shot over DeSmith for his 16 th goal at the 2:18 mark.
Reinhart scored again 8:02 into the third period when he sniped another shot top shelf with the man advantage.
Pittsburgh got on the board when Zucker scored with 9:42 left in the third.
Asplund hit an empty net with 1:48 remaining to make it 4-1.
The Penguins cut the lead to two again with 23.2 seconds left on Blueger's goal.

Worth mentioning

-Defenseman Mattias Samuelsson made his NHL debut Sunday. He skated 14:12 with one shot and two hits. He primarily played on a pair with Rasmus Ristolainen.

Samuelsson was drafted by Buffalo in the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft (32nd overall). He had 11 points (3+18) in 19 games during his first season in Rochester at the time of his recall.
-Cozens now has five assists in his last five games.
-Casey Mittelstadt assisted on Asplund's goal and has totaled 10 points (7+3) in his last 11 games. He leads all Sabres in both goals and points during that stretch.
