The Buffalo Sabres are proud to give back to the Western New York community.

From their annual visit to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to on-ice sessions at KeyBank Center, below is a look at some of the ways Sabres players got involved this past month.

ROSWELL PARK TEAM VISIT

The Buffalo Sabres continued their annual tradition when they visited Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center on Jan. 13. Sabres players, staff, and Sabretooth met with patients and Roswell staff members, signing autographs and sharing conversations to lift spirits. Players also participated in interactive games, cookie and gingerbread house decorating and a surprise “snowball” fight with children during their time at Roswell.

SABAH SKATE

Sabres players Jacob Bryson, Connor Clifton and Owen Power took part in a SABAH skate at KeyBank Center, joining athletes of all abilities on the ice. SABAH, a Buffalo-based nonprofit founded in 1977, provides education and therapeutic recreation for individuals with disabilities, promoting fitness, social development, and communication skills. The Sabres defensemen skated alongside participants, offered encouragement and created memorable experiences.

Ice Hockey in Harlem's mission is to improve the social and academic well being of children from the Harlem community through the game of hockey.

      YOUTH GOALIE CLINIC

The Sabres hosted a goalie clinic at KeyBank Center on Jan. 29, which provided on-ice instruction to 25 local goaltenders, ranging from 6U to high school, selected from various Sabres Learn to Play programs and local high school teams. Goalies received guidance on technique and positioning from Sabres assistant coach Seth Appert and goaltenders Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and James Reimer. The clinic gave young goalies the opportunity to develop their skills while learning from NHL-level coaches and players.
