Sabres reassign Fitzgerald to taxi squad

Defenseman has appeared in 4 NHL games this season

The Buffalo Sabres have reassigned defenseman Casey Fitzgerald from the Rochester Americans to the taxi squad, the team announced Thursday.

Fitzgerald, 24, made his NHL debut on Dec. 17 and has appeared in four games with the Sabres. He has nine points (4+5) in 27 games with the Amerks.
Buffalo opens a three-game Western Conference road trip against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.
