The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Tyson Jost to a one-year contract worth $2 million, the team announced Saturday. Jost returns to Buffalo after joining the team early in the 2022-23 season, when the Sabres claimed him off of waivers from the Minnesota Wild on November 19.

The 10th-overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, Jost recorded 22 points (7+15) in 59 games for the Sabres and expressed his desire to stay with the team during his end-of-season media availability in April.

"I've definitely loved my time in Buffalo here. It's been amazing," Jost said. "I couldn't have asked for things to work out any better. I'm really really happy that I ended up here.

"I just had a great exit meeting with all of the coaches and general managers and stuff like that. I just stressed that I really wanted to be back here and be a part of this team."

Jost compared his experience in Buffalo to his early days with the Colorado Avalanche.

"I've created some pretty cool relationships. That's just what you see in this locker room," he said. "That's what makes a good hockey team, too. I look back on Colorado and just the relationships that I had with that team and kind of the dynamic of that team, and there are so many similarities here with Buffalo.

"It's special, too. It makes it fun coming to the rink, and everybody wants to enjoy their job. That's something that really makes it easy to do here."
