Germany retained sole possession of first place in the Group B standings with three regulation victories for nine points. Canada is off to its worst start in tournament history, tied with Italy as the lone Group B teams with zero wins through three contests.
Rieder earned the secondary assist on Stefan Loibl's opening goal during the first period, sending a pass from behind the goal line and then parking himself around the net as the shot came in. The point was his second of the tournament (1+1).

Miller assisted on Nick Paul's goal for Canada, which cut a 2-0 deficit in half during the first period. The defenseman tallied five shots in 20:44.
Sabres prospect J-J Peterka did not play for Germany.
