Two Buffalo Sabres prospects will have the honor of taking the ice during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Defenseman Owen Power, currently playing at the University of Michigan, and Northeastern University goaltender Devon Levi will represent Team Canada when the Winter Games begin on February 9.

Power, the first-overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, is in his sophomore season at Michigan and has already set career highs in points (26) and assists (23) in 24 games.
He suited up for Team Canada at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship and recorded five points in two games before the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. In his first game, he became the first Canadian defenseman in tournament history to score a hat trick.
Levi, meanwhile, has been dominant between the pipes in his first collegiate season. He has nine shutouts in 24 games, which is tied for seventh all time. Niagara goaltender Greg Gardner set the NCAA record for shutouts in a single season with 12 back in 1999-2000.
Levi is first in the nation with a .948 save percentage and his 1.56 goals-against average ranks third among qualifying goalies.
He was Team Canada's starting goaltender for the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship, backstopping the Canadians to a silver medal.
He was selected by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft and was acquired by Buffalo in the trade that sent Sam Reinhart to the Panthers in July.
Canada's first game of the preliminary round is scheduled for February 10 against Germany.
The NHL announced on December 22 that NHL players will not be able to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics due to postponements in the NHL's regular-season schedule caused by COVID-19.
Former Sabres who will play in the Olympics include Eric Staal (Canada), Michael Frolik (Czechia) and Mikhail Grigorenko (Russia). Sabres Hall of Famer Craig Ramsay is the coach of Team Slovakia.
