As a salute to the military, Sabres players will wear special camouflage jerseys during warm-ups. The jerseys will be auctioned at Sabres.com/Auctions from Saturday, Nov. 10 starting at 2 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 18 at 9 p.m., and proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.
Sabres captain Jack Eichel will donate a suite to children of military families for the game and the Sabres will donate six additional suites to military organizations. Sabres players will also have a meet-and-greet with children of military families after the game.
New Wave Energy is donating 200 tickets to the game to United States Army active and reserve members and hosting a group at the game from Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center in Angola, New York. The camp, part of the National Military Family Association's Operation Purple® network of summer camps, provides a fun community for children of military members dealing with deployment-related stress. New Wave Energy will also donate one year's worth of electric supply to the camp.
The Sabres will offer all active, reserve, National Guard and retired military personnel the opportunity to purchase tickets in the Buffalo Creek 300 level for $25. These tickets can be ordered by clicking here and using the promo code 'military.' Military members will also receive a 25 percent discount at the Sabres Store the day of the game.
Additionally, the Buffalo Sabres Foundation will be donating $5,000 to Pawsitive for Heroes to sponsor a service dog for a veteran in need. Veteran John Sniadecki and service dog Honey from Pawsitive for Heroes will be participating in a ceremonial puck drop. In addition to Military Appreciation Night, the Sabres hosted groups from the United States Army, Buffalo Sabres Warriors and WNY Heroes in October and November. Representatives from each organization will be at informational tables located in the 100 level pavilion before the start of Saturday's game. The United States Army will perform the United States Army Oath of Enlistment ceremony for future soldiers prior to the game and military vehicles will be on display in the Alumni Plaza. During the second intermission of Saturday's game, the Sabres will honor Purple Heart recipients.
The Sabres are hosting two programs throughout the 2018-19 season to honor local military members.
