The first week of "Sabres Classics" featured games from the '90s and 2000s, but for the next little bit, it's all about 2005-06.
We'll start with a sampling of regular season games from that year. The NHL was coming out of a lockout that canceled the 2004-05 campaign and the Buffalo Sabres had a great mix of veterans, players entering their prime and rookies ready to shine. Expectations were low for Buffalo and as the year wore on, it was clear that something special was happening at One Seymour H. Knox III Plaza.
The team made it to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals before an insurmountable number of injuries ended their "scary good" playoff run.
So set your DVRs as we turn back the clock! All "Sabres Classics" broadcasts will start at 8 p.m. in the local Buffalo market and they'll air live on the MSG Go app.
