TORONTO -The Sabres will hold the seventh-overall pick when the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft kicks off in Vancouver on June 21.
The New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks won drawings for the top three picks, respectively, at the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery in Toronto on Tuesday night.
The Sabres began the night with an 8.5-percent chance to win the No. 1 pick, the fifth-best odds of the 15 eligible teams. The Devils had the third-best odds (11.5 percent). New York jumped into the top three from the sixth position (7.5 percent) while Chicago jumped all the way from 12th (2.5 percent).
