The Buffalo Sabres have recalled goaltender Michael Houser from the team's taxi squad.

Houser, 28, joined the organization in 2018-19 when he signed an AHL deal with the Rochester Americans. He has primarily manned the net for the Sabres' ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones, in that time.
He signed an NHL contract for the remainder of this season on March 19.
Last season in Cincinnati, he posted a 16-5-5 record in 26 games. In 2018-19, he was the ECHL Goaltender of the Year and an All-ECHL First Team selection.
Houser served as the Sabres' backup on March 24 and 25, but has yet to appear in an NHL game.
Buffalo will take on the Washington Capitals on the road tonight. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. on MSG and WGR 550. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 on MSG.
The Sabres are currently dealing with a number of injuries between the pipes.

BUF@BOS: Tokarski replaces Ullmark after injury

Goaltender Linus Ullmark played only 4:54 on Tuesday before leaving with a lower-body injury. Carter Hutton has been out with a lower-body injury since exiting Buffalo's game at the 2:53 mark on March 22. There is currently no update on when either goaltender could return.
Dustin Tokarski stepped in during both of those games and he will start for Buffalo tonight. Read more in Sabres.com's Morning Skate Report.
Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who has started 14 games for the Rochester Americans this season, is also working his way back from an injury. General manager Kevyn Adams said it's possible that Luukkonen could make his NHL debut this weekend.
Buffalo opens up a five-game homestand with back-to-back afternoon games against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday and Sunday.
This season, each team is required to carry three goalies between their taxi squad and active roster. With three of the five netminders under contract injured, Adams said that the team has consulted with the NHL about using an emergency backup goaltender tonight.
