FEBRUARY
February was highlighted by the trade deadline, which saw some Sharks players depart while welcoming others into Sharks Territory. Specifically, a lot of former Maple Leafs into Sharks Territory.

MARCH
The San Jose Sharks held their first Social Media Night in March, and there was no better way of celebrating social media in 2016 than to tweet entirely in emojis.

After a one year hiatus from the Stanley Cup playoffs, the San Jose Sharks once again clinched a spot in the postseason. And fittingly, it came against the rival Los Angeles Kings.

APRIL
In April, the longest playoff run in Sharks franchise history began against - who else? - the Los Angeles Kings. One of the biggest victories was Game 4, giving the San Jose Sharks a 3-1 series lead.

Also in April, Sharks fans learned that Captain Joe Pavelski was up for EA Sports's NHL 17 cover vote - and jumped hard onto that wagon, flooding Twitter timelines everywhere with #NHL17Pavelski.

MAY
Game 6. San Jose Sharks versus the St. Louis Blues in the Western Conference Final. Sharks at home, leading the series 3-2. Yeah, it's not a surprise that night's win provided both of the most popular tweets of May.

JUNE
The San Jose Sharks played in the month of June for the first time in franchise history. The team also got their first win in June, an overtime winner at home that will forever immortalize the name JOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNAAAAASSSSS DOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNSSSSKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIII

June also saw the passing of Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe. In honor of one of the greatest players to ever play the game, the Sharks adorned one section of the upper bowl with Howe's #9 ahead of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

JULY
In July, the Pokemon GO craze swept the nation (and the world). Even the Sharks twitter account wasn't immune, catching Pidgies on the bench during the Sharks Development Camp.

On July 2, Sharks Territory celebrated Joe Thornton's 37th birthday. He's kind of a popular guy.

AUGUST
There is no better way to start off an August Monday than with a Patrick Marleau highlight, which is why this video ranked as August's most popular tweet.

The Sharks dropped three new secondary marks to much acclaim during August as well.

SEPTEMBER
Fridays are the best. Joe Thornton is pretty great too. Which is why September's most popular tweet combines the two.

To fight off the doldrums of the offseason, many NHL teams decided to band together and live-tweet the popular hockey movie Miracle. Apparently, Mike Eruzione's game-winning goal against the Russians is a big deal.

OCTOBER
Hockey was back, and it meant some new faces hit milestones. Aaron Dell, amazingly nicknamed "Dell-icious", earned his first NHL win in his first NHL start.

Early in October, popular former San Jose Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle announced his retirement at a press conference at SAP Center.

NOVEMBER
In November, the San Jose Sharks announced an 8 year extension for #88, locking down the famously bearded defenseman in the longest contract in franchise history.

DECEMBER
Joe Thornton joined teammate Patrick Marleau in the 1,400 games club in December,
