Happy Off-Season Sharks fans! It might be Summer, but your favorite Sharks are keeping busy and that means so are we! We wanted to use this month for a chance to get to know the future of our franchise; the players' names that we're letting you know to keep on your radar. With that said we're back with another edition of Oceans Unknown! If you're new here, the San Jose Sharks' "Oceans Unknown" series gives fans an opportunity to get to know their favorite Sharks off the ice in places that showcase the players' personality, fashion, and life beyond the rink. For this one, we are hanging out with Sharks prospect Ethan Cardwell fresh off signing his entry-level contract!

Let's start with the basics. Ethan is 20-year-old Oshawa, Ontario native. He's 5'11 and plays right wing. His most recent stint was with the Barrie Colts in the OHL. This past April, Cardwell

putting him one step closer to his dreams of playing in the NHL.

But who is "Cardsy" off the ice? We took him around downtown San Jose to dig a little deeper into this future Shark.

When not on the ice, he is a big fan of golf. And while this may seem stereotypical for a hockey player these days, "Cardsy" can play. In fact, he almost pursued golf over hockey. He can shoot in the 60s and has a mean short game. Guess we should have taken this interview to the course!

Speaking of golf, Ethan has a younger brother Tanner, who is a star athlete himself. He currently plays D1 college golf at Robert Morris University.

When Ethan is not on the ice or out on the links, you may find him at his cottage, his family home on a lake up in Canada. He absolutely loves being out on the water from boating to surfing. You might catch him out on the water near Santa Cruz or Carmel when he is in the Bay Area but he said he hasn't done any surfing, YET.

One of our favorite parts of Oceans Unknown is getting all the details for the style and fashion of your Sharks. Cardsy is a big into casual wear and prefers a more beach-vibe-inspired look. The light blues, whites, and tans are a big part of his wardrobe. His shoot fit was a combination of Zara, Alo, BRDYZ, and Adidas. He does also love to dress up though and appreciates a great suit. He enjoys the ability to customize them each season. His favorite brand currently? State and Liberty.

Now what about the flow? We can't forget about the flow; this is a hockey player we're talking about. He loves his hair more with a little length and having it stick out from his helmet or hat. He has had it this way since he was little and doesn't ever want to have it be any shorter.

If you give Ethan the AUX cord, there is a strong chance he's going to play some country music. One of his favorite concerts to date has been Eric Church, but he's also a big fan of Morgan Wallen.

That's a wrap on this edition of Oceans Unknown. But it's not quite complete without a little behind-the-scenes of how it came to life with Sharks team photographer, Amanda Cain.
