Nyquist, 28, is currently second on the Red Wings in scoring, with 49 points (16 goals, 33 assists) in 62 games.
In 481 career NHL games, all with Detroit, he has posted 295 points (125 goals, 170 assists) and 124 penalty minutes.
He was originally selected by Detroit in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
He also represented Sweden at the 2014 Olympics and compiled 19 points (15-4-19) in 27 games over three appearances at the IIHF World Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
