San Jose Sharks General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the team has acquired a 2023 fourth-round selection of Seattle's choosing, to be decided by June 15, 2023, from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for defenseman Jaycob Megna.
Megna, 30, appeared in 48 games for San Jose this season, recording 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) and 21 penalty minutes, along with earning a plus-six rating. He played in his 100th NHL game on Nov. 10 at St. Louis and scored his first goal of the season on Jan. 10 at Arizona.
The defenseman skated in 92 games for San Jose across parts of two seasons, registering 20 points (three goals, 17 assists). Megna served as team captain of the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.
The six-foot-six, 220-pound native of Plantation, Florida was signed by San Jose as an unrestricted free agent on July 28, 2021.
