The Sharks rang in the Lunar New Year early with a win on Wednesday night at SAP Center!
While Lunar New Year falls on Sunday, January 22, the Sharks celebrated at home a little prematurely before their long road trip.

This was the first year the Sharks celebrated Lunar New Year so we wanted to make sure our fans had all the facts to celebrate to the fullest.

Sharks players arrived to The Tank in their best red suits and ties. Red is one of the most significant colors of the Lunar New Year as it represents luck. And the red suits definitely brought the luck in the comeback win!

As part of the festivities the Sharks donned special warmup jerseys to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. The jerseys were designed by local tattoo artist

who drew inspiration from her family's own Lunar New Year celebrations. Proceeds from the warmup jersey auction will go to

Fans were treated to some of the best in-game entertainment we've had all year -
Rising Phoenix Lion and Dragon Dance Association
. They are comprised of high school students and young adults in San Jose whose mission is to keep the traditional art alive in their community. They performed during both intermissions on the ice.

was at the game handing out traditional red envelopes to fans who stopped by their table. The envelopes, filled with money, represent good luck and good wishes for the new year.
