SAN JOSE, CA -On Thursday, November 8 the Sharks Foundation was recognized by the Silicon Valley Business Journal as a Top-50 corporate philanthropist in Silicon Valley for the 2017 Fiscal Year. The award was given at the Business Journal's annual Corporate Philanthropy Awards Gala held at the Corinthian Grand Ballroom.
By contributing more than $1.8 million to numerous charitable organizations throughout the Bay Area during the 2016-17 season, the Sharks Foundation ranked No. 14 amongst the honorees which included Kaiser Permanente, SAP, Google and the Sobrato Organization. The No. 14 ranking demonstrates a four-spot improvement for the Sharks Foundation which ranked No. 18 in the 2016 campaign.

During the 2016-17 season, the Sharks Foundation distributed more than $500,000 to
Legacy Projects
, $300,000 in
Community Assist Grant
funding, and $242,000 to campaign beneficiaries through the Foundation's three pillars of giving: character development, education, and health and safety. Additionally, the Foundation worked with the
