Knyzhov, 25, made his return to the Sharks lineup on March 6 at Winnipeg after missing nearly two full years due to lower body injuries. He has played in nine games with the Sharks this season, scoring a goal on March 14 against Columbus. In his career, Knyzhov has skated in 68 NHL games and has registered 11 points (three goals, eight assists). He has registered one assist in 13 games with the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League this year, making his season debut on January 25 after 623 days between contests due to injury. In 46 career AHL games, Knyzhov has one goal and five assists.
The six-foot-three, 222-pound native of Kemerovo, Russia was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on July 2, 2019, following his participation in the team's Prospect Development Camp.
