Korenar, 23, appeared in 10 games with the Sharks in 2020-21, making his NHL debut in relief on Apr. 10 against Los Angeles. Korenar earned his first NHL start on Apr. 14 against Anaheim and collected his first win on Apr. 26 against Arizona. Due to COVID-19, Korenar began the season in his native Czech Republic, appearing in 11 games with HC Ocelari Trinec (Czech), boasting an 8-2 mark, with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.

Over his three seasons in the AHL, Korenar has a lifetime record of 40-24-12 in 75 appearances, along with a 2.86 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. In 2018-19, his first as a member of the Barracuda, he was named to the AHL All-Star Game.
In 2016-17, he appeared in 32 games with Lincoln of the USHL, splitting the net with Montreal prospect Cayden Primeau. That season he went 14-11-4 with a 2.22 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage with two shutouts. He finished second in the league in save percentage and tied for third in goals-against average.
Internationally, Korenar has represented the Czech Republic on multiple occasions, including the 2018 U20 World Junior Championship and the 2016 U18 World Junior Championship.
The six-foot-one, 190-pound native of Pelhrimov, Czech Republic was originally signed by the Sharks as an undrafted free agent on July 13, 2017.
