SAN JOSE, Calif. (April 1, 2023) - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has recalled forwards Kyle Criscuolo and Danil Gushchin from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda).

Criscuolo, 30, was acquired by San Jose in a trade with the Detroit Red Wings on Jan. 18, 2023. The forward has 25 points (15 goals, 10 assists) in 54 American Hockey League (AHL) games this season, including 15 points (10 goals, five assists) in 26 games with the Barracuda. Criscuolo earned the primary assist on Tristen Robins' game-opening shorthanded goal last night in Texas.
The Southampton, N.J. native has two assists and six penalty minutes in 15 career NHL games. He appeared in nine contests for the Buffalo Sabres during the 2017-18 season and recorded both of his assists across six games with the Detroit Red Wings last year.
The five-foot-nine, 175-pound forward was originally signed by the Buffalo Sabres on July 1, 2017.
Gushchin, 21, is enjoying a productive rookie campaign with the Barracuda, where he has recorded 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists) in 61 games. He is tied for fourth in goals, assists and points on San Jose. He leads all team skaters in shots on goal (179) and is one back of the AHL lead for rookies. His four shootout goals this season are tied for the second most in the AHL.
Last season, Gushchin played with the Niagara Ice Dogs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he amassed 71 points (41 goals, 30 assists) in 44 games. He led Niagara in almost every major offensive category and finished tied for 10th in the OHL in goals and was 14th in points per game (1.39).
The five-foot-10, 180-pound native of Yekaterinburg, Russia was originally selected by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Draft (third round, 76th overall).
