Suess has played his entire professional career in the Winnipeg Jets organization. Across parts of five seasons, he has registered 83 points (45 goals, 38 assists) in 166 games with the Moose and appeared in four NHL games with the Jets. He has collected three points (one goal, two assists) in eight AHL postseason games.
Prior to signing with the Jets on March 25, 2018, Suess played collegiate hockey at Minnesota State University, Mankato for four seasons, where he tallied 127 points (57 goals, 70 assists) in 157 games. In his senior season, he was named a Top 10 Finalist for the Hobey Baker Award after scoring 43 points (22 goals, 21 assists) in 40 games. Suess served as team captain during his junior and senior seasons.
Suess was named an alternate captain for the United States in the 2013 World Junior A Challenge, where he scored three point (two goals, one assist) in four games en route to a first-place finish.
The five-foot-eleven, 190-pound forward was originally selected by Winnipeg in the 2014 NHL Draft (fifth round, 129th overall).
