Kunin, 24, recorded 22 points (13 goals, nine assists) in 82 games for the Predators in 2021-22, along with one assist in four playoff games. His 13 goals ranked sixth among Nashville forwards and he was the only Predators player to play in all 82 games.
In 2020-21, Kunin set career highs goals per game (.26) and points per game (.50) after tallying 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) in 38 games. The forward registered 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in his final 21 games of the season.
Prior to joining the Predators, Kunin spent four years in the Minnesota Wild's system. In his first full season with the club in 2019-20, Kunin set career highs in goals (15), assists (16) and points (31) in 63 games and finished fifth in team goal scoring. He split both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 season s between Minnesota and the Iowa Wild. He has totaled 93 points (46 goals, 47 assists) in 251 NHL games and 47 points (27 goals, 20 assists) in 76 career AHL games. Kunin was a teammate of Kaapo Kahkonen in the Wild organization from 2018-20.
Before signing with the Wild on March 23, 2017, Kunin spent the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons at the University of Wisconsin, captaining the Badgers in his sophomore season and becoming only the second sophomore captain in school history and first in 40 years. Kunin registered 70 points (41 goals, 29 assists) in 69 collegiate games, including an assist on Wisconsin's lone goal in the 2017 Big Ten Tournament championship game. The forward also spent two seasons playing for the United States National Team Development Program.
Internationally, Kunin has represented the United States at junior and senior levels, helping the United States to first-place finishes at the 2015 World U18 Championship and 2017 World Junior Championship, serving as captain on both occasions. Kunin appeared in three games for Team USA at the 2019 World Championship.
The six-foot, 197-pound native of Chesterfield, MO was originally selected by Minnesota in the 2015 NHL Draft (first round, 15th overall).
