Veronneau, 26, spent the 2021-22 season with Leksands IF of the Swedish Hockey League, where he led the league in goals (34) and ranked second with 60 points (34 goals, 26 assists) in 51 games. He was named the SHL's Most Valuable Player.
Last season, Veronneau played in 25 games with IK Oskarshamn with 18 points (12 goals, six assists).
The undrafted forward originally signed as a free agent with the Ottawa Senators in March 2019 and appeared in 16 NHL games with Ottawa over the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, posting four points (two goals, two assists).
During that span, Veronneau also appeared in 36 American Hockey League games with Belleville and Toronto and collected ten points (five goals, five assists).
In 2018-19, he completed a stellar collegiate career with Princeton University that saw him rank second among all-time
Princeton skaters in assists (92) and fourth in points (144). He was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award
as part of the initial nominees when they were announced. Additionally, Veronneau was named as a finalist for the William Winston Roper Trophy as the Princeton senior man of high scholastic rank and outstanding qualities of sportsmanship and general proficiency in athletics.
In his senior season, he ranked ninth in the NCAA in points-per-game (1.19), led his club in assists (24) and finished second in points (36) in 31 games. He was recognized as the ECAC Player of the Month for December after leading all NCAA skaters in points during the month (four goals, seven assists), featuring a four-point game (two goals, two assists).
In 2017-18, he led all Princeton skaters in points, posting 55 (17 goals, 38 assists) in 36 games.
The six-foot, 190-pound forward is a native of Ottawa, Ontario.
