San Jose Sharks (

) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has signed forward Scott Sabourin to a two-year, two-way contract.

Sabourin, 30, played in 51 games with the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2022-23, setting career highs with 33 points, 16 goals and 17 assists. He finished fifth on the team in goals, seventh in points, eighth in assists and led the club with 177 penalty minutes.

The Orleans, Ontario native has played in 43 career NHL games, registering eight points (two goals, six assists) and 49 penalty minutes. He appeared in 35 games with the Ottawa Senators in the 2019-20 season, notching six points (two goals, four assists), played in one game with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2020-21 and skated in seven games with Ottawa in 2021-22, tallying two assists.

The six-foot-four, 207-pound forward has appeared in 405 career AHL games, split between Belleville, the Toronto Marlies, Stockton Heat, San Diego Gulls, Ontario Reign, Iowa Wild and Manchester Monarchs, tallying 129 points (60 goals, 69 assists) and 920 penalty minutes.
