FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired forward Vladislav Namestnikov via trade from Detroit in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft. Detroit will retain 50 per cent of Namestnikov's salary for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. Additionally, the team has placed goaltender Braden Holtby on LTIR (lower body), retroactive to March 8.

Namestnikov, 29, has recorded 25 points (13-12=25) in 60 games with Detroit in 2021-22. The forward ranks fifth on Detroit with 13 goals this season, including one shorthanded tally, as he is one of three Red Wings players to score a shorthanded goal in 2021-22. Namestnikov ranks third among Red Wings forwards with 32 blocked shots this season and ranks fourth among team forwards with an average shorthanded time on ice per game of 1:37.
Namestnikov has registered 231 points (104-127=231) in 538 career regular-season NHL games with Tampa Bay, the New York Rangers, Ottawa, Colorado and Detroit. The nine-season NHL veteran has also made three appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, earning nine points (5-4=9) and 59 hits in 41 career postseason games. On the international stage, Namestnikov won the bronze medal at the 2017 IIHF World Championship, logging six points (3-3=6) in 10 tournament games with Team Russia.
The 6-foot, 180-pound native of Zhukovskiy, Russia was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the first round (27th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
