FRISCO, Texas --Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nillannounced today that the team has activated forward Joel Kiviranta (lower body) from Injured Reserve and recalled forward Tanner Kero from the Taxi Squad.

Kiviranta, 24, has registered two points (1-1=2) in one game with Dallas so far in 2020-21. The forward skated in 11 NHL regular-season games last season, posting one goal (1-0=1). Kiviranta also recorded six points (5-1=6) in 14 games during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He finished second among NHL rookies with five goals and a +7 rating, sharing sixth and ranking third on Dallas, respectively.
Additionally, the forward appeared in 48 American Hockey League (AHL) games with Texas in 2019-20, earning 23 points (12-11=23) and finishing fourth on the team in goals (12).

NSH@DAL: Kiviranta redirects PPG in front

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound native of Vantaa, Finland was originally signed by Dallas as an undrafted free agent on May 31, 2019.
Kero, 28, has recorded two assists (0-2=2) in seven games with Dallas this season. He registered 33 points (8-25=33) in 49 AHL games with Texas in 2019-20. He shared first on Texas with 25 assists and with 12 power play assists last season. Kero also finished the campaign ranked third on the team in points (33) and eighth in goals (8).
The 6-foot, 185-pound native of Hancock, Mich. was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 1, 2019.
