PNC Plaza is located just south of American Airlines Center, and is utilized for watching parties, press conferences, concerts, private events, as well as major NHL events such as the 2018 NHL Draft. With the ability to host 3,000 people, PNC Plaza allows for a multitude of enjoyable events for all ages and capacities. It includes a variety of businesses including The Hangar, a retail shopping experience for Stars fans, Cumulus Media, which houses Sports Radio 96.7/1310 The Ticket (The Ticket), the Stars flagship radio affiliate, WFAA, as well as restaurants such as Hero and Shooters.
PNC formally expanded its regional business model into North Texas in 2016, and over the last four years has strategically added lines of business and community resources to better serve the market. Most recently, PNC has opened a collection of consumer banking locations -- called Solution Centers -- across the region with plans to open its flagship Solution Center in the Victory Park area in 2021. Additionally, PNC recently announced a definitive agreement to acquire BBVA USA Bancshares, Inc., including its U.S. banking subsidiary, BBVA USA. The acquisition will significantly accelerate PNC's national expansion strategy, making PNC a top-five U.S. bank with a leading coast-to-coast franchise. Following completion of the acquisition, which is expected to occur mid-2021, PNC will hold the No. 4 deposit market share rank in the state of Texas.
"As we continue PNC's strategic expansion across Texas, we are proud to be partnering with the beloved Dallas Stars franchise and American Airlines Center, a first-class event facility in the heart of the city," said Brendan McGuire, PNC regional president and head of Corporate Banking for North Texas. "This multi-year relationship allows us to engage with our clients and prospective clients in more targeted, meaningful ways - virtually and in-person - and provides the perfect opportunity to distinguish the PNC brand with Stars fans and event and concert-goers, further strengthening our presence in North Texas."
