Stars announce changes to business operations
Among the moves, Brenden Morrow rejoins the organization in a new role as Director of Business and Hockey Development
Matt Bowman becomes the Executive Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer after previously serving as the Executive Vice President, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Departments reporting to him now include ticket sales, corporate partnerships and marketing. Entering his eighth season with the team, Bowman has employed strategies aligning Dallas Stars sales and marketing efforts, which have helped expand the organization's fan base. Under his leadership, he has established operational efficiency and the team's fan-forward customer service strategy have driven high retention and fan satisfaction rates. In addition, Bowman has helped guide the organization in developing new marketing strategies by connecting traditional advertising to emerging digital opportunities, providing fans with new ways to engage with the Stars.
Guy Tomcheckhas been hired to assume the role of Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. He joins the Stars organization after spending the last ten years with the Texas Rangers Baseball Club where he most recently served as Director, Corporate Partnerships. Tomcheck oversaw the corporate sales department that generated revenue for Globe Life Park, Globe Life Field, Texas Live Development Project and the Urban Youth Academy of Dallas. He sourced and secured long-term partnerships with major companies while also developing and implementing strategic plans to retain, achieve and drive profitable long-term sponsorship revenue and growth. Prior to his time with the Rangers, Tomcheck worked from 2004-2009 with the Anaheim Ducks in various roles including the Media and Corporate Sales Manager from 2007-2009. A native of Colleyville, Texas, he earned his bachelor's degree from Baylor University in Speech Communications and was a four-year scholarship athlete and letterman in football.
Brenden Morrowreturns to the Stars organization in his new role of Director of Business and Hockey Development. In his new position with the club, Morrow will work closely with President Brad Alberts on all initiatives relating to corporate partnership endeavors, grassroots hockey initiatives, ticket sales, Dallas Stars Foundation events and the Dallas Stars Ownership Advisory Group. Originally selected by Dallas in the first round (25th overall) of the 1997 NHL Draft, Morrow spent 13 of his 15 NHL seasons with the Stars, recording 528 points (243-285=528) in 835 career regular-season games with the club. The forward also served as the fifth captain in Dallas Stars history, and the 22nd captain in franchise history, from 2006-13, the second-longest tenured captain in club history.
Dan Stuchal has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing after previously serving as Vice President, Brand Development and Broadcasting. In his new role, Stuchal will oversee the club's overall marketing efforts, including brand creation, game presentation and merchandise. In his 16th year as a member of the Stars organization, he began his career in the Minnesota North Stars communications department and moved to Dallas when the club relocated in 1993. Since that time, Stuchal has held numerous other roles within the organization including Vice President of Business Development, Director of Hockey Administration and Director of Team Services. From 2003-2013, he worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star and rose to the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Tom Holy has been promoted to Vice President, Communications and Broadcastingafter spending the last five seasons as Vice President, Communications. Entering his seventh season with the Dallas Stars and his 14th overall in the NHL, he will continue to oversee the communications efforts for the club while now also managing the team's relationships with its broadcast partners, FOX Sports Southwest and Sportsradio 1310 AM/96.7 FM The Ticket, along with broadcast talent.
