FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has bought out the final year of right wing Valeri Nichushkin's contract. Nichushkin had one year remaining at $2.95-million on his two-year contract with Dallas.

As per the terms of a buyout, one-third of his salary will be spread out over the next two seasons with a salary cap hit of $700,000 in 2019-20 and $450,000 in 2020-21.
Nichushkin, 24, recorded 10 assists (0-10=10) in 54 regular-season games with Dallas in 2018-19. The winger averaged 11:55 time on ice per game, adding 71 hits, 32 blocked shots and 24 takeaways during the campaign. Nichushkin skated in one game during the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Stars and failed to record a point.
