Despite two goals from Denis Gurianov and one from Jason Robertson, the Stars fell 6-3 to the Florida Panthers at FLA Live Arena on Friday. Dallas, still in search of its first win in preseason play, fell to 0-1-2.
Florida, meanwhile, improved to 4-0-0 with goals tonight from Aleksander Barkov, Markus Nutivaara, Kevin Connauton, MacKenzie Weegar, Jonathan Huberdeau and Sam Reinhart.

Making his first appearance of the preseason, Anton Khudobin made 30 saves on 35 shots. Unfortunately, the veteran netminder gave up four unanswered goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Sergei Bobrovsky got the start for the Panthers and turned aside 11 of 12 shots in two periods of work. Christopher Gibson took over for the third and made 14 saves on 16 shots.

Bowness on loss to Panthers

Barkov opened the scoring 1:17 into the first period when he raced into the zone and fired a shot past Khudobin on the game's first shot.
The Panthers added three unanswered goals in a span of 5:50 from defensemen before the opening frame ended, with Nutivaara, Connauton and Weegar finding the back of the net.
"We just didn't have our legs and we had a lot of inexperienced players playing their first games," said Stars head coach Rick Bowness. "They were clearly nervous. We were playing one of the better teams in the National Hockey League with their full roster other than one or two guys. We knew they were going to be coming at us."
Gurianov got the Stars on the board 49 seconds into the middle frame with a wrist shot from the bottom of the left dot that went top shelf over Bobrovsky's shoulder. The goal, which came on the power play, was Gurianov's first of the preseason.

Huberdeau gave the Panthers their four-goal lead back when he snuck behind the Stars defense and deked Khudobin with 11.3 seconds remaining in the second period.
Robertson got his second goal of the preseason when he finished a nifty 2-on-1 with Mavrik Bourque at the 6:16 mark of the third.

Gurianov tallied his second goal of the game with just over two minutes remaining in the third with a shot from the high slot that snuck past Gibson.
Reinhart's empty-net goal came with 1:11 left on the clock.
Dallas' next game will take place in El Paso, Texas, on Sunday against the Arizona Coyotes at 8 p.m. CT as part of Kraft Hockeyville™ USA 2020.
