DALLAS -- The finale of a brief two-game homestand sees the Stars host the LA Kings for the final time during the regular season. This is the third game of the three-game season series, which has seen each team win on home ice.
It's also a game between two clubs in the thick of a playoff race. The Stars enter Wednesday's game with 61 points, two points behind Edmonton for the second wild card and three behind Nashville for the first wild card. The Kings sit in second place in the Pacific Division with 65 points, five back of first place Calgary.

The Stars are coming off a 4-2 victory on Sunday vs. Buffalo and have gone 6-3-1 over their past 10. At American Airlines Center, they've won two in a row, four of their past five (4-1-0) and 10 of their past 14 (10-4-0). Dallas owns a 19-7-1 record on home ice this season, while the club's 19 wins at AAC are tied for third in the NHL.
In the head-to-head matchup with LA, the Stars have won three of the past four (3-1-0) and six of eight (6-2-0). Additionally, Dallas has earned points in 10 of the previous 13 contests against the Kings (9-3-1) dating back to the 2015-16 season.
LA has gone 7-2-1 in its past 10 games but is coming off a 7-0 loss two nights ago at home against Boston. This is the opener of a four-game road trip that continues Friday in Columbus, Sunday in Buffalo and next Monday in Boston.
The Kings have outshot their opponent in 21 consecutive games, tying the longest streak in NHL history (since shots began being tracked in 1959-60). It's the longest such streak since St. Louis outshot its opponent in 21 straight from Nov. 29, 2001-Jan. 12, 2002.
Trevor Moore has been the Kings' hottest player since Dec. 1, leading the club in points (28), tying for the lead in assists (20) and ranking fourth in goals (8). The 26-year-old forward has already set single-season highs in assists and points and needs just one goal to tie his personal mark for goals in a season (10, 2020-21).
