Stars select forward Conner Roulette with 111th pick in 2021 NHL Draft

With the 111th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Stars selected Conner Roulette on Saturday from Seattle of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The 5-foot-11, 180-pound forward averaged over a point per game for the Thunderbirds in the shortened 2020-21 WHL season with 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 11 games.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Roulette ranked seventh among WHL rookies in goals (19) and eighth in points (39) with Seattle.
On the international stage, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native helped Team Canada win gold at the 2021 Under-18 World Championship where he registered five points (two goals, three assists) in seven games.

Roulette was named Manitoba Aboriginal Sports Male Indigenous Athlete of the Year in 2019, and said he draws inspiration from Indigenous NHL players like Edmonton's Ethan Bear and Vancouver's Micheal Ferland.
