• Defenseman Ryan Suter played his 1,199th career NHL game in New York on Thursday and is expected to hit the 1,200-game milestone in Boston. In his 17th NHL season, Suter, 36, ranks fourth among all active players in games played.
• Suter will become the 114th player in NHL history to reach 1,200 games and the 33rd defenseman to achieve the milestone.
• Additionally, the native of Madison, Wisconsin will become the 14th U.S.-born player in league history to reach 1,200 games.
• After nine seasons in Minnesota, Suter signed a four-year contract with the Stars on July 28, 2021.
• He has skated in the second-most games among active defensemen in the NHL, while he also ranks fifth in points and second in assists (93 goals, 515 assists, 608 points).
• In 2020-21, Suter was one of only four Wild skaters to play all 56 games. He averaged 22:11 minutes of ice time per game, third highest among Minnesota defensemen. He ranked third on the team with a plus-9 rating and tied for fourth with six power-play points.
