Running through the 6 with my woes

The Dallas Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs meet on Thursday night at Scotiabank Arena for the second and final game of the 2018-19 season series. In the first game between the two clubs on Oct. 9, the Maple Leafs defeated the Stars, 7-4, at American Airlines Center. Forward Tyler Seguin tied a game-high with four points (1-3=4) and forward Alexander Radulov added three points (1-2=3). Rookie blueliner Miro Heiskanentallied his first NHL point (0-1=1) and became the youngest defenseman (19 years, 83 days) and the second-youngest player in Dallas Stars history (1993-present) to record a point (youngest: Val Nichushkin, 18 years, 230 days on Oct. 20, 2013). The Stars are looking to snap a six-game winless streak (0-4-2) in Toronto, where the club hasn't recorded a victory since Dec. 23, 2008 (W, 8-2). During the 2017-18 campaign in Toronto, the Maple Leafs defeated the Stars in the shootout, 6-5, on March 14, 2018. Seguin led the club with three points (1-2=3) and captain Jamie Benn registered a goal and an assist (1-1=2).

It's a Shore thing

Forward Devin Shore tallied a career-best three points (1-2=3) on Tuesday night against the Canadiens, marking his fourth career multi-assist game and the 13th multi-point outing of his career. Additionally, Shore's third period tally was the second shorthanded goal of his NHL career and his first since Dec. 3, 2017 at Colorado (1-1=2). The forward has now recorded points in four of his last five games (1-6=7). Shore posted a three-game assist streak (0-4=4) from Oct. 19 - 25, which marked the longest assist and point streak of his career. Shore has skated in 11 games in 2018-19, sharing fifth on the club with eight points (2-6=8) and tied for second with six assists. His +3 plus/minus rating shares second on the club and is tied for the team-lead among Stars forwards. The native of Ajax, Ont. has registered three points (1-2=3) in five career contests against the Maple Leafs.

I need a Miro!

Defenseman Miro Heiskanen potted his second career game-winning goal (1-0=1) on Tuesday night against Montreal and now has registered the game-winning goal in two of his last three games (2-0=2). The rookie blueliner recorded the game-winning goal (1-0=1) last week against the Ducks on Oct. 25, potting the first goal of his NHL career. He became the youngest defenseman (19 years, 99 days) in Dallas Stars history (1993-present) and the second-youngest in franchise history (1967-present) behind Ron Meighan (18 years, 207 days) to score a goal. In 11 games this season, Heiskanen has recorded four points (2-2=4) and ranks third on the Stars in time on ice (21:14). Among NHL rookies, the blueliner shares second in time on ice (21:14), is tied for first in game-winning goals (2) and shares sixth in goals (2). The native of Espoo, Finland was selected by Dallas with the third overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut this season on Oct. 4 vs. Arizona and tallied his first NHL point with an assist (0-1=1) on Oct. 9 vs. Toronto.
