Crossing state lines through the morning

• The Stars are in Motor City to take on the Red Wings on the second night of a back-to-back and the final time of the 2021-22 campaign.
• The Stars won the first matchup, 5-2, on Nov. 16 at American Airlines Center. Forward Jason Robertson recorded three points (two goals, one assist), while captain Jamie Benn, defenseman Ryan Suter and forward Roope Hintz each added a goal. Goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced.
• In their most recent game at Little Caesars Arena, the Stars defeated the Red Wings in overtime, 2-1, on April 24, 2021. Benn potted the game-winning goal and goaltender Anton Khudobin turned aside 16 of 17 shots.
• Dallas enters Friday's matchup having logged wins in each of the previous two, five of the past six (5-1-0) and eight of the past 10 (8-2-0) games against the Red Wings.
• Defenseman John Klingberg has notched eight points (all assists) in five of his past seven games in Detroit.
• Robertson is riding a five-game point streak (four goals, four assists) against the Red Wings and has inked the scoresheet in six of his seven career games (four goals, five assists) against them.

You make everything all right

• Dallas scored a season-high four power-play goals on Thursday night in Buffalo, tying the second-most power-play tallies in a single game in franchise history.
• It's the first time they've recorded four power-play markers in a single game since recording five on Jan. 22, 2021 against Nashville.
• Dallas currently ranks fourth in the NHL with a 27.3% power-play percentage (30-for-110).
• Robertson scored two power-play goals on Thursday and now shares 17th in the NHL and ranks second on the Stars with six this season.
• Pavelski is currently tied for 10th in the NHL and leads the Stars with seven goals with the man advantage in 2021-22. Pavelski has scored 38 power-play goals dating back to the 2018-19 campaign, tied for 10th in the NHL over that span.
• The Stars are one of five teams in the NHL this season to have at least eight players with multiple power-play strikes, while the club trails only St. Louis who features nine skaters with multiple power-play tallies.

• Robertson matched a season-high with three points (two goals, one assist), including two power-play goals and the game-winning tally, against the Sabres on Thursday.
• Thursday's tilt marked Robertson's team-leading 10th multi-point game of the season and his third three-point game in 2021-22.
• Robertson ranks second on the Stars with 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) in 29 games this season, while he's tied for second in assists and ranks third in goals.
• He also ranks third in the NHL and leads Dallas with five game-winning goals, while rankin second on the team with six power-play tallies.
