third star of the week
ending Feb. 20.

• He stopped all 34 shots he faced on Friday night against the Blackhawks, the second shutout of his NHL career (other: March 6, 2021 vs. Columbus).
• In the last three games, the netminder has stopped 104 of the 107 shots he faced. He has backstopped the Stars to a win in four of his last five appearances (4-1-0).
• The native of Lakeville, Minnesota has appeared in 23 games this season and has registered a 15-6-0 record with a 2.34 GAA and .921 SV%.
• He ranks eighth in the NHL in GAA and ranks tied for 10th in SV%.
• On Tuesday night in Denver, he stopped 46 of the 47 shots he faced against the Avalanche, setting new career highs for saves and shots against.
• His previous career best for saves in a single game was April 3, 2021 against the Carolina Hurricanes, when he turned aside 41 of the 43 shots he faced for a 3-2 victory at PNC Arena.
• Oettinger's 46 saves were the sixth-most by a netminder in Dallas Stars history (1993-present) and the most by a Stars goaltender since Anton Khudobin posted 49 against the Florida Panthers on Feb. 22, 2021.
• He's now one of four goaltenders in franchise history to have recorded 20-plus wins over their first 50 career games, joining Marty Turco (26 wins, 50 GP), Roman Turek (26 wins, 50 GP) and Mike Smith (24 wins, 44 GP). He's the youngest of that quartet to reach the milestone at 23 years and 59 days, surpassing Mike Smith (25 years, 338 days).
