Duck tales

The Dallas Stars travel to Anaheim to take on the Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday night. Dallas and Anaheim meet for the third and final game of the 2018-19 season series, with the Stars earning victories in both contests thus far (2-0-0) at American Airlines Center. This season against the Ducks, the Stars are 2-for-6 on the power play (33.3%) and 4-of-5 (80%) on the penalty kill. Defenseman John Klingberg (1-2=3) and forward Jason Dickinson (2-1=3) lead all Stars skaters with three points in two games this season vs. Anaheim. Dallas is looking to snap a five-game losing streak (0-5-0) at Honda Center, where they haven't recorded a victory since April 8, 2015 (W, 4-0). In the most recent game in Anaheim on April 6, 2018, the Ducks defeated the Stars, 5-3. Captain Jamie Benn notched two points (1-1=2) with forward Radek Faksa (1-0=1) and defenseman Marc Methot (1-0=1) each adding a goal.

'It's that Hanzal, he's so hot right now'

Forward Martin Hanzal tallied a power play goal (1-0=1) against the Golden Knights on Sunday. Hanzal recorded his first point since returning to the lineup after undergoing spinal fusion surgery last March. He made his return to the ice this season on Dec. 7 vs. San Jose, logging 12:22 time on ice and winning seven of his eight faceoffs in his first NHL contest since Feb. 21, 2018 against Anaheim. During the 2017-18 campaign, Hanzal skated in 38 contests and recorded 10 points (5-5=10) during his first season as a member of the Dallas Stars. The native of Pisek, Czech Republic has skated in 668 regular-season games over 12 NHL seasons with three teams (Phoenix/Arizona, Minnesota, Dallas) and has registered 337 points (127-210=337). In 48 career contests vs. the Anaheim Ducks, Hanzal has tallied 24 points (7-17=24). At Honda Center, he has inked the scoresheet in eight of his last 10 games.
