From Motown to Montreal

The Dallas Stars travel to Bell Centre to take on the Montreal Canadiens in the second game of a season-long six-game road trip. Dallas went 1-1-0 last season against Montreal, with each team winning their respective games on home ice. In the most recent game between the two clubs, the Canadiens defeated the Stars, 4-2, at Bell Centre on March 13, 2018. Captain Jamie Benn (1-0=1) and forward Radek Faksa (1-0=1) lit the lamp for the Stars. Forwards Alexander Radulov (0-1=1), Tyler Pitlick (0-1=1) and Devin Shore (0-1=1) each added helpers for Dallas. The Stars defeated the Canadiens, 3-1, on Nov. 21, 2017 at American Airlines Center in the first meeting of the 2017-18 campaign. Spezza to skate in 1,000th NHL game

Forward Jason Spezzais scheduled to skate in his 1,000th career NHL contest on Tuesday night. The 16-season NHL veteran began his career with the Ottawa Senators where he appeared in 686 regular-season games in 11 seasons before skating in 313 regular-season games in five seasons with Dallas. He has recorded 896 regular-season points (326-570=896) going in to tomorrow's contest. In addition to his 999 NHL career regular-season games played, Spezza has also skated in 69 career postseason contests, recording 65 points (22-43=65) in nine trips to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He was part of Ottawa's run to the Stanley Cup Final against Anaheim in 2007, finishing tied for first in the NHL with 15 assists and 22 points (7-15=22) in 20 postseason contests. In the 2018-19 campaign, Spezza has skated in 10 games and shares fourth on the team with eight points (2-6=8). The forward leads the NHL with a 64.1% faceoff win percentage, going 75-for-117 from the faceoff dot in 2018-19. The native of Toronto, Ont. has inked the scoresheet in five of his last seven games vs. Montreal (3-4=7) and has amassed 69 points (32-37=69) in 62 career contests against them.
